Job description

Leads and serves as the technical expert for an assigned crew.

Serves as a technical subject matter expert (SME) in all technical areas of Field Service customer support; providing technical and mechanical services support to all internal and external customers in settings such as workshops, compressor stations, process plants, etc.

Must have extensive knowledge of the Company's products and services.

Conducts thorough testing of equipment before it is released for operational work.

Supervises quality control processes to track, maintain, and improve customer service and prevent service failures.

Ensures safety compliance by making sure all personnel are aware of and follow safety guidelines, ergonomic work habits, and proper work area maintenance.

Ability to push and pull with arms up to 20 pounds.

Ascends/descends ladders to examine equipment, works in confined spaces, moves boxes weighing up to 50 pounds, works outdoors, walks long distances, and shares company vehicles at customer sites.

Ensures pre-task safety crew briefings are conducted before any operation.

Ability to grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands throughout the workday.

Plans, implements, and manages work assignments for contracts.

Follows all reasonable instructions from management, working in the best interest of the company.

Disciplinates, counsels, and coaches staff, providing written assessments when necessary.

Communicates with relevant departments regarding activities under their concern.

Travel 200-300 days per year, anywhere from 2 to 14 weeks at a time.

Works extended hours, up to 14 hours per day, including weekends and holidays; a typical week can total 60-84 hours.

Ascends/descends ladders, works in confined spaces, moves boxes up to 50 pounds, works outdoors, walks long distances, and shares vehicles at customer sites.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Reciprocating Compression.
  • Meets all sublevel (FST I, II, III & IV) requirements.
  • Must possess attributes such as safety focus, service orientation, business focus, and self-starting attitude.
  • Dependable, capable of multitasking successfully.
  • Mature, able to take and give direction, adaptable to work and customer needs.
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Results-oriented with a sense of urgency.
  • Clear, concise, and accurate service reporting.
  • Educational requirements include an Associate's Degree with a technical focus (Bachelor's preferred) or equivalent experience, along with formal technical training related to the oil and gas industry.
  • Completion of all Reciprocating Compression Systems product training.
  • Mastery of core competencies, advanced tooling, engine and compressor theory, product knowledge, shop math, computer skills, and documentation standards.
  • Advanced leadership skills, engine balancing, web deflection/alignment, and product knowledge.
