Job summary

Cogent in Riverside, Missouri seeks a Field Service Controls Technician to service and maintain electrical controls equipment used in water and wastewater systems. You will install, startup, and calibrate process instrumentation and support pump control systems, including VFDs and soft starters.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, with technical schooling preferred, and a willingness to travel and respond as an Emergency Field Service Responder.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; technical/vocational schooling preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical control systems and work overtime on short notice.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with a customer-focused attitude.
• Comfortable in fast-paced environments and adapting to changing priorities.
• Proficiency with Gmail, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain electrical controls equipment used in water and wastewater.
• Install, startup, and calibrate process instrumentation (flow meters, transmitters, level, temp, analytics).
• Startup, troubleshoot, retrofit, and repair pump control systems including VFDs and soft starters.
• Wire electrical systems, install conduits, and set up control panels and service entrance equipment.
• Assist in planning, installing, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
• Act as Emergency Field Service Responder and travel as needed.
