Job summary

Trescal is a growing leader in calibration, repair and asset services across the U.S. The Field Service Technician will calibrate electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical instruments, mainly on-site with some lab work.

Travel to customer sites, collaborate with teams, and maintain high quality traceability and standards are key aspects. Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years in lab environments, an Electronics degree, and proficiency with ISO/IEC 17025; strong communication and customer-facing

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Electronics or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of commercial or military laboratory experience.
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform calibrations on high level and unique test and measurement instrumentation.
• On-site calibrations at customer locations and in a fixed-site calibration lab when needed.
• Use troubleshooting, repair, and calibration knowledge to handle unique equipment.
• Interact with customers to determine needs related to traceability and standards.
• All other duties as assigned

Field Service Technician will calibrate electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, electronic measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment for conformance to established standards. The position will comprise mostly field service work, with some in-lab responsibilities as well.

Responsibilities

• Perform calibrations on high level and unique test and measurement instrumentation
• Calibrations will be performed on-site at customer locations and, as needed, in a fixed site calibration lab
• Use your troubleshooting, repair, and calibration knowledge to work on unique equipment
• Interact directly with customer to determine needs relating to traceability, adequacy of standards and test procedures utilized by Trescal, as well as, for items requiring repair or limited calibration
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Military training or experience (PMEL OR TMDE OR Electronics), an Associate's Degree in Electronics (or related technical field), or equivalent work experience & training
• Minimum of 3-5 years of commercial or military laboratory experience
• Experienced in calibrating several disciplines of test and measurement equipment such as, but not limited to: Physical, Dimensional & Electronics
• Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 requirements
• Strong communication skills including written, verbal and listening skills
• Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), Internet research, data entry, etc.
• Experience in interacting with customers in a courteous and professional manner and providing an excellent customer experience
• Clean driving record required
• Ability to travel (mostly local, occasional overnight)
• Knowledge of ANSI / NCSL Z-540-1,17025 and ISO 9000 preferred
