Job summary

Trescal Inc in Pleasanton, CA seeks a Calibration Technician Level 2 to perform calibrations and repairs of high-level test and measurement equipment at customer sites and in the Pleasanton lab.

The role requires 2–3 years of calibration experience and knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, with strong communication and documentation skills. Occasional travel and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Electronics or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2–3 years calibrating test & measurement equipment in commercial or military labs.
• Experience with T&M equipment across disciplines (electronic, mechanical, chemical, thermal, dimensional).
• Familiar with calibration software such as LabView, SURE/CAL and Met/Cal.
• ISO/IEC 17025 / ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 / ISO 9000 knowledge preferred.
• Strong communication, good documentation, and detail orientation.
• Ability to work on-site with some overnight travel; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform calibrations on high level and unique T&M equipment at customer sites and in Pleasanton lab.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate equipment.
• Interface with customers to determine traceability and procedures.
• Ensure preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Create and verify calibration data sheets.

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Calibration Technician - Level 2 to join our team in Pleasanton, CA. The Calibration Technician - Level 2 will perform calibrations and repair high level and unique test and measurement instrumentation. There will be limited overnight travel. Responsibilities

• Perform calibrations on high level and unique test and measurement instrumentation at customer locations (on-site) and in the Pleasanton calibration laboratory.
• Use your troubleshooting, repair, and calibration knowledge to work on unique equipment
• Interface directly with customers to determine needs relating to traceability, adequacy of standards and test procedures utilized by Trescal, as well as for items requiring repair or limited calibration
• Ensure that preventative maintenance of the laboratory's equipment is performed in a timely and acceptable manner,
• Performing daily inspections of the incoming equipment to verify: accessories and manuals are available, malfunctions of customer instrumentation, and to change equipment status when appropriate.
• Create and verify calibration data sheets for technical content and accuracy based upon instrument specifications and approved calibration procedures
• Occasional overnight travel may be required
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Military training or experience, an Associates Degree in Electronics (or related technical field), or equivalent work experience & training
• Minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience calibrating test & measurement equipment (in a commercial or military calibration lab preferred)
• Experienced in some or all of test and measurement equipment used in conjunction with the repair and calibration of electronic, mechanical, chemical, thermal and/or dimensional devices
• Experienced in calibrating several disciplines of test and measurement equipment such as Physical Dimensional, Mass, Torque, Pressure, Temperature, Humidity, DC Low, Flow preferred
• Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 and ISO 9000 requirements preferred
• Strong Communication skills including written, verbal and listening skills
• Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), Internet Research and database management
• Excellent attention to detail and multi-tasking ability
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize workload
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Must be willing to perform on-site work with some overnight travel required
• Experience working in a GMP environment preferably in a pharmaceutical or bio-tech company preferred
• Experience using Calibration Software such as: LabView, SURE/CAL and Met/Cal preferred
