Job summary

Northland Controls in Fremont, CA is seeking an experienced Lead Technician to oversee field installation and mentor technicians on security systems. You will lead crews, troubleshoot, and ensure work meets Northland and client standards.

This hands-on role requires 5+ years in security systems, ability to read blueprints, coordinate with the Project Manager, and travel to project sites. We value safety, quality, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience installing and supporting physical security systems.
• Experience with access control, video surveillance/CCTV, or related electronic security systems is preferred.
• Experience leading field installation activities or providing technical direction to other technicians and installers.
• Associate degree, vocational/technical school training, apprenticeship, or equivalent combination of education and relevant field experience.
• Strong understanding of security system installation, wiring, termination, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, building plans, technical manuals, and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field installation activities and provide technical direction and support to Technicians and Installers assigned to the project.
• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot security system devices and associated wiring to ensure systems perform as designed.
• Coordinate installation activities, labor requirements, schedules, site conditions, and project priorities with the Project Manager.
• Support the coordination of multiple crews to keep work on schedule and within labor hours.
• Read and interpret project drawings, blueprints, specifications, manuals, and other technical documentation.
• Maintain accurate daily documentation of work performed and project activities.
