Job summary

Onterris is seeking an entry-level Field Scientist - FTIR in Mount Pleasant, MI. You will perform in-field FTIR testing of emission sources and interact with clients, working independently or with a team under the Mt. Pleasant District Manager.

The role requires 0-3 years in an analytical lab, a Bachelor’s in science/engineering (chemistry preferred), a valid driver’s license, and ability to travel with some weekend work. Compensation ranges per hour, and safety training is provided.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of professional experience in an analytical laboratory setting.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering, chemistry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with performing in-lab FTIR sample analyses and building calibrations.
• Follow established testing methods and procedures to support data validation and reporting.
• Assist with data processing and report writing.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of analytical testing data and equipment; write up next steps and corrective actions.
• Develop SOPs and participate in training to stay current with FTIR tech and regulatory shifts.
• Perform in-field FTIR-based stack testing according to procedures as needed.
• Set up, operate, and maintain analytical testing equipment.
• Participate in training for career development, safety and certifications.
