Job summary

Onterris, Inc. in Mt. Pleasant, MI is seeking a Field Scientist - FTIR to perform in-field FTIR testing of emission sources and support data validation for client projects.

You will work independently and with a team, process data and write reports, assist with calibration and SOP development, and travel locally and out-of-town up to 50-75% of the time to support multi-week field assignments.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of professional experience in an analytical laboratory setting.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering, chemistry preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain DOT medical certification and OSHA Respiratory Protection Medical Evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-field FTIR-based testing of emission sources.
• Assist with in-lab FTIR sample analyses and calibrations.
• Process data and write reports.
• Troubleshoot analytical data and equipment; suggest corrective actions.
• Develop and train SOPs to stay current with FTIR technology and regulatory shifts.
• Set up, operate, and maintain analytical testing equipment.
• Travel for projects, including overnight stays as needed.
• Assist in field team coordination and safety procedures.

Analytical lab experience (0-3 years)
