Job summary

Viasat is hiring a Field Applications Engineer to support military satellite communications from Tampa, FL. You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot SATCOM products while providing exceptional customer service in a dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience in IP-based Military SATCOM systems and holds an active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance. A competitive salary range of $80,000.00 - $126,500.00 annually is offered, alongside comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience working with IP‑based Military SATCOM systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot, document troubleshooting steps, and plan maintenance activities.
• Working knowledge of Ku/Ka‑band RF equipment, Antenna Control Units (ACU), and High Power Amplifiers (HPA).
• Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and IP networking.
• Effective communication of technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and maintain satellite communications hubs.
• Provide customer support and troubleshoot complex RF and networking issues.
• Document processes and improve operation protocols.
