You will support on-site testing, manage sample chain-of-custody, and coordinate routes while adhering to safety policies and client confidentiality. Strong organization and communication are essential for daily client interactions and data recording.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Willingness to travel within the Tri-State Area for client sites.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle field equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide sample collection and testing services for environmental chemistry and bacterial samples.
• Complete assigned routes and provide containers to clients.
• Perform on-site testing when required and record data.
• Maintain a daily activity log and document chain-of-custody reports.
• Follow company safety policies and site-specific requirements (OSHA).
• Drive and comply with traffic laws, report on vehicle maintenance and cleanliness.

Job description

EMSL is seeking a Field Sampling Technician in Sparta, NJ. The field technician is responsible for the collection and testing of environmental chemistry and bacterial samples. This role services the Northern and Central New Jersey Region.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Provide sample collection services to various clients which includes but not limited to FDA Detention, Well-Water, legionella, and environmental chemistryProvide technical support to clients when neededComplete all assigned routesFurnish sample containers to various clientsPerform miscellaneous on-site testing when required and record all dataAdhere to the company handbook and health and safety policiesMaintain a written log of daily activityDrive in a safe manor and observe all traffic lawsMonitor and maintain proper vehicle maintenance and cleanlinessWork during the hours assigned and work weekends and/or holidays when requestedObserve all OSHA and client site-specific safety requirementsPerform other duties and tasks as assigned by company including reassignment to another task or departmentDo not enter any confined space without direct approval from upper managementFill out and submit all required sample chain of custody and sample collection reports required in each disciplineMust be able to lift equipment in and out of vehicle that could weigh 50 pounds or moreAdditional movement of sample between our Northern and Southern laboratories as neededRequirements:High School Diploma or equivalentPrior knowledge of field sampling and/or laboratory experience is preferredMust be willing and able to travel via company vehicle to various client sites throughout the Tri-State AreaMust have ability to lift up to 50 poundsMust have a valid driver's license and clean driving recordMust be good with directions/using GPSMust be organized and be able to prioritize tasks/deliveriesMust have excellent communication skills and good attitude; candidate will have daily interaction with the company's clientsMust be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlineMust have a good understanding of client confidentialityDriver Abstract Check RequiredIt is expected that you will exercise care and good judgment while driving, and that you will comply with all state and local regulations for drivers of motor vehicles.
