Job summary

MPL Laboratories in Sparta, NJ seeks a Receiving Stock Clerk to join our laboratory services team. This full-time role focuses on receiving, logging, unpacking, labeling, and storing lab supplies while ensuring accuracy and safety.

The position reports to the Assistant Group Leader of Laboratory Services and requires adherence to SOPs and PPE protocols. The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED and relevant lab exposure; microbiology experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Laboratory experience in academic or commercial settings is a plus.
• Microbiology lab experience is a plus.
• Excellent oral, written, and technical communication skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team; positive attitude and adaptability.
• Effective time management and ability to multitask with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Receive and log shipments; record receipt information in Shipping Logbook and store supplies properly.
• Unpack boxes and prepare worksheets per SOPs; print labels for laboratory technicians.
• Check quantities and condition against packing lists; report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Assist with waste disposal and proper PPE usage.
• Lift and move boxes of lab equipment; comply with safety standards and SOPs.
• Read and follow standard operating procedures for all tasks.

MPL Laboratories is seeking a Receiving Stock Clerk in Sparta, NJ. This is a laboratory support position reporting to the Assistant Group Leader of Laboratory Services. Ideal candidate will receive and log various supplies and packages.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform all assigned receiving clerical responsibilities in the absence of the main Receiving ClerksReceive and check shipments of inventory items as they arrive, check any items for damage, enter receipt information for orders into Shipping Logbook, and store supplies in appropriate placeUnpack boxes and prepare sample worksheets according to MPL Laboratories' standard operating proceduresPrint labels for the laboratory techniciansCheck quantities and condition of supplies against the packing list, letting the Senior Manager of Microbiological Testing know immediately of any discrepanciesReport low inventory of supplies to the Assistant Group Leader ReceivingPerform all phases of waste disposal to include removing garbage and recycling, samples, broth, and plate disposalAdhere to all approved safety standards to include wearing approved clothing and personal protective equipmentLift and carry boxes of petri dishes and general laboratory equipment throughout the laboratoryRead and follow standard operating proceduresRequirements:High School diploma or GED equivalentAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorshipLaboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plusMicrobiology lab experience a plusExcellent Oral, Written, and Technical CommunicationPhysical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods of timeAbility to distinguish colorsAbility to work independently, and as a part of a team, self-motivated, adaptability, and a positive attitudeEffective time management organizational skills, and ability to multi- task and prioritize with minimal assistanceBackground Check RequiredAvailable Shift:Position is full-time Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Sparta, NJ are encouraged to applyEMSL offers full-time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending account.
