Job summary

Oxford University Press in Atlanta is seeking a US Higher Ed Outside Sales Representative to promote our higher education titles and electronic course materials. You will meet with professors to drive adoptions and provide pedagogical solutions that enhance the learning experience.

The role requires extensive campus visits, calls and demos, travel during peak seasons, and the ability to build relationships with instructors and bookstore managers within the territory.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Personable, tenacious, intellectually curious, team player.
  • Comfortable with demoing digital learning products to customers.
  • Proficient in a PC environment with working knowledge of MS Office, and ideally Salesforce.com.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • This position may require overnight travel during peak seasons.
  • Sales experience in the publishing industry is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Oxford University Press Higher Education course materials – including courseware and e-textbooks – to current and prospective book adopters.
  • Calls and demos are made via well-planned campus visits, telephone, and email. Plan and execute sales plan under the direction of sales management. Extensive travel is required during peak seasons.
  • Build and maintain relationships with instructors of university and community college programs and bookstore managers within an assigned territory.
  • Achieve sales goal by selling course materials through strategic management of territory with the use of appropriate selling skills
  • Driving sell-thru and ensuring that all major bookstores are serviced during rush periods
  • Track back-orders and late adoptions carefully.
  • Maintain accurate contact and adoption information in our data management system, Salesforce.com.
  • Proactively increase product knowledge individually and through participation in all sales meetings or conference calls.

US Higher Ed Outside Sales Representative – Atlanta

ABOUT THE ROLE

Sales Representatives at Oxford University Press meet with college and university professors to promote our higher education titles and electronic course materials. As a Sales Rep, you will be responsible for meeting one‑on‑one with faculty to further adoptions of OUP products. You’ll be providing pedagogical solutions to institutional challenges, directly impacting what and how students are learning. This position is located in Atlanta.
