Job summary

Altorfer Industries, Inc is seeking a Business Development Coordinator for Cat Compact equipment. Drive growth by engaging customers, prospecting, and converting opportunities in designated markets. Serve as a trusted in-store sales professional building long-term customer relationships.

You will collaborate with Sales, Rental, Parts, Service, Cat Financial, and leadership to identify opportunities and execute market growth strategies, including lead-generation and customer events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years of construction, equipment, product support, sales, or related industry experience preferred; compact/ heavy equipment experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success in business development, sales prospecting, customer acquisition, or relationship development.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record per company requirements.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and other business tools.
• Ability to manage multiple opportunities with strong follow-up discipline.
• Ability to work in a field- and store-based environment with travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Generate profitable growth through Cat Compact equipment sales and financing opportunities.
• Meet sales growth objectives via proactive prospecting and opportunity management.
• Conduct 16–20 meaningful sales-focused interactions daily through outbound calls and follow-up.
• Respond to walk-in traffic, inbound inquiries, and marketing leads with urgency.
• Develop new relationships within targeted market segments (contractors, landscapers, utilities).
• Identify conquest opportunities to grow Cat market share.
• Maintain a healthy sales pipeline with opportunities, actions, and close dates.
• Support local marketing, events, demos, and lead-generation activities.
• Collaborate with branch leadership and Caterpillar resources to drive growth.
