One of the country's largest fintech and commerce companies is searching for a Field Sales Community Launch Manager to join their Neighborhoods team in a field-based role across NYC. This is a ground-floor opportunity to be the face of an early-stage local rewards initiative, spending your days out in the community, building real relationships with independent business owners, and helping them thrive through a program that directly drives customer discovery, loyalty, and repeat visits.
This exciting opportunity to be embedded in your local business community begins as a 6-month W2 contract with strong potential to extend, as this role is part of a proof-of-concept initiative that is already showing traction. The role is field-based, with Monday through Thursday spent visiting merchants in person within your assigned market, and Fridays reserved for desk work, reporting, and planning. Mileage and travel-related expenses are fully reimbursable, and time spent traveling to meet sellers is billable.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the on-the-ground representative for the Neighborhoods program in your assigned city, building trusted, authentic relationships with local business owners and their teams
- Manage the full field launch lifecycle from pre-launch readiness through activation day, including live product walkthroughs with owners, managers, and frontline staff
- Lead engaging in-store training sessions that help merchants and their employees feel confident using the platform from day one
- Proactively monitor merchant engagement and adoption, identifying at-risk accounts and helping businesses get maximum value from the program
- Organize and host workshops, community events, office hours, and other touchpoints to build an active local merchant network
- Collect and synthesize merchant feedback from the field, surfacing operational challenges and actionable insights back to Product, Operations, and Go-to-Market teams
- Collaborate cross-functionally to execute successful city launches and support future market expansion
- Build repeatable playbooks, training materials, and community engagement strategies designed to scale across new markets
- Roll up your sleeves to remove obstacles, solve problems on the spot, and deliver an outstanding merchant experience in coordination with Account Managers where applicable
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience preferred
- 5 to 7+ years of experience in a customer-facing or field-based role such as merchant success, hospitality, retail, restaurant operations, field operations, community management, training, or account management
- Naturally personable and able to walk into a business cold, introduce yourself to owners and staff, and build genuine trust quickly
- Comfortable operating in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments where taking initiative and figuring things out on the fly is the norm
- Experience leading trainings, facilitating workshops, or educating customers in ways that are clear, engaging, and easy to retain
- Highly organized and dependable, with a strong track record of following through on commitments
- Able to balance big-picture thinking with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude when merchants need hands-on support
- Tech-savvy and comfortable learning and demonstrating new platforms and tools
- Familiarity with your local market and existing community connections are a strong plus
- Passionate about local businesses and motivated by the idea that independent merchants are the backbone of strong neighborhoods
- Must be available to travel locally within approximately 100 miles of your assigned market Monday through Thursday on a near-daily basis
