Job description: Field Sales Engineer

For nearly 25 years Remote Solutions has been designing, testing, and innovating remote racking systems. Our goal is to create and improve a product that keeps every operator in the field safe from the effects of arc flash incidents and protects the switchgear racking mechanism from damage. Our products are designed and assembled in our state-of-the-art facility in Tucson, Arizona to ensure the highest quality, reliability, and durability for everything we sell.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team. This role will focus on selling and demonstrating highly technical, engineered products to a diverse client base. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and a passion for problem-solving.

Fundamental Responsibilities:

• Extensive overnight travel, including some weekend travel time is required
• Perform on-site installation and servicing of remote racking system in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Adhere to site specific safety requirements in industrial environments such as oil refineries, power plants, and other manufacturing type facilities
• Analyze and repair mechanical, electrical, and some software issues
• Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system
• Serve as a company liaison with customers on technical matters
• Exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
• Complete, in a timely manner, standard equipment documentation and reports to include field service reports, installation records, and any other necessary documents
• Perform basic control wiring installation using schematics and wiring diagrams with little assistance
• Provide customers with product demonstrations at their sites or assist with demonstrations online from Tucson
• Maintain a deep understanding of the company's engineered products and their technical features, applications, and benefits.
• Serve as the technical expert during sales conversations, guiding clients through complex product specifications and ensuring they receive optimal solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to address customer requirements and propose solutions.
• Fundamental Knowledge and Experience:
• Strong mechanical background
• Previous work in a field service capacity is desired
• Experience in electronic system troubleshooting
• Experience with low voltage and medium voltage switchgear and circuit breakers preferred
• Knowledge of fire protection procedures and an understanding of the proper use of portable fire extinguishers (previous certifications a plus)
• Knowledge of CPR and basic first aid procedures (previous certifications a plus
• Required Certifications and Licenses:
• High School Diploma/GED
• Valid US Driver’s License with a clean driving record
• The ability to become CPR and First Aid certified through company training is required (previous certification is a plus)
• The ability to become MSHA certified through company training is required (previous certification is a plus)
• Valid US Passport is a plus
• Valid Electrical License is a plus

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to work some weekend travel
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with customers
• Initial and periodic drug testing and background checks are mandatory for this position
