Job description

Field Sales / Business Development (Shops & Clubs)

Cloudline connects aircraft owners with the shops that keep their aircraft flying. Most of general aviation maintenance still runs on paper, and we're moving it online, with AI handling the parts that eat up the most time. We're early-stage and founder-led, and real customers already run the platform in production.

Our product is in good shape, and shops and operators are beginning to use it. We want to go faster. We're looking for someone aviation-native to own that: bringing shops and flight clubs onto Cloudline and growing the business at every field they touch.

This is a relationship role, and the territory is bigger than your home field. Some of it happens face to face at the airport; most of it starts with picking up the phone. You need to be the kind of person who can call a shop you've never set foot in, figure out whether the decision-maker is the owner, the DOM, or the chief pilot, get them on the line, and talk to them in their own language. If you're a CFI, a mechanic, a DOM, or just someone who speaks fluent airport, and starting conversations is the fun part for you, this was built for you.

Compensation is performance-based: you're paid on the business you generate, with no ceiling on what a strong rep can earn. We'll walk through the details on a first call.

What you'll do
  • Bring maintenance shops and flight clubs onto Cloudline and get their teams actually using it.
  • Own your territory and your relationships. Start with the shops, clubs, and people you already know, then work the phone to build well beyond them.
  • Stand up new shops start to finish: get the tools live where the work happens and walk the crew through them.
  • Grow each account over time as shops find more ways to put the platform to work.
  • Represent the product straight: our software surfaces the facts, the mechanic makes the airworthiness call.
What we're looking for
  • You're embedded in general aviation: a CFI, an A&P/IA, a DOM, a chief pilot, or just the person who knows everyone at the field.
  • You're outgoing and you close. Walking up to someone you've never met and starting a conversation comes naturally to you.
  • You work the phone as well as the ramp. You can call a shop cold, figure out who actually makes the decision, and get them talking. When you don't know who that is, you know how to find out.
  • You get things done without being managed. Give you a goal and you run with it.
  • You know how shops and clubs actually operate, and you can talk to owners, mechanics, and pilots in their own language.
  • You're at home in an early-stage company where the plan changes as we learn.
  • Bonus: you'd use these tools yourself.
What you'd be selling
  • Logbook: digitize an aircraft's logbooks and know exactly where it stands, in minutes instead of hours.
  • Relay: squawk capture at the point of work. A QR at the aircraft, and every gripe lands in one place instead of on a sticky note nobody reads.
  • Clear: flight scheduling for clubs and shops. The daily driver that keeps the whole operation in one place.
Nice to have
  • An existing network of shops, clubs, FBOs, or MROs you could start working day one.
  • Experience selling into aviation, or into other hands-on, operational industries.
  • Time spent in or around maintenance shops, flight schools, or flying clubs.
  • A pilot certificate or a mechanic certificate of any kind.
  • Comfort with software tools and showing them to non-technical people.
