Job summary

Par Pacific is seeking a Safety Technician to provide field safety coverage across refinery units, contractor work areas, and loading facilities in Newcastle, WY. The role emphasizes enforcing safety procedures, conducting audits, and promoting a strong safety culture.

The ideal candidate will have OSHA knowledge, strong observation and communication skills, and the ability to intervene using Stop Work Authority when hazards are identified.

Qualifications

• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without visa sponsorship.
• Experience in refinery/industrial safety is preferred.
• Strong field safety and training delivery skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide field safety coverage across refinery units, maintenance areas, shops, loading areas, and contractor work zones.
• Conduct daily field audits and verify compliance with JSAs, permits, and hazard controls.
• Monitor high-risk activities (hot work, confined space, line breaking, LOTO, lifting, excavation, work at heights).
• Review permits, JSAs, and hazard controls before and during work execution.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and gas monitors; document findings and corrective actions.
