Job summary

Phillips Infrastructure is seeking a Safety Specialist to lead field-based safety efforts for vegetation management projects. You will conduct inspections, enforce safety protocols, and train crews on PPE and emergency procedures while traveling to multiple sites.

Under supervision of the Safety Manager, you will document hazards, support incident investigations, and assist in securing permits. A strong background in OSHA standards and field safety is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field.
• Professional safety certification (ASP or GSP) preferred; CTSP or ISA certification also preferred.
• At least two years of safety management experience, or five years in safety management, vegetation management, line clearance, or electric utility operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular walk-through inspections of vegetation management sites to ensure safety standards are met.
• Observe crew work practices and inspect equipment to verify safe operation and PPE use.
• Identify hazardous conditions and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Assist in preparing safety documentation, including inspection reports and corrective procedures.
• Collaborate with Safety Manager to plan inspections and manage safety supplies.
• Assist in investigations of injuries, vehicle incidents, and property damage with required data reports.
• Participate in job briefings and issue safe work permits as needed.
• Support federal, state, local, and client safety inspections and audits.
• Deliver onboarding and ongoing safety training, including aerial rescue and first aid/CPR.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations and industry standards.
