Job summary

Phillips Infrastructure is seeking a Safety Specialist to conduct site inspections, enforce safety protocols, and support safety training across multiple project locations in Columbus, OH. This role involves heavy travel and close collaboration with the Safety Manager.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, 2+ years in safety management (or 5 years in related safety roles), and proficiency with MS Office. ASP or GSP certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field.
• ASP or GSP certification preferred.
• 2+ years safety management or 5 years in safety management/utility operations.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular walk-through inspections of sites to ensure safety compliance.
• Identify, document, and recommend resolutions for hazardous conditions and verify corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Safety Manager to plan inspections and manage safety supplies.
• Assist in investigations of incidents and compile data and reports as required.
• Issue safe work permits for operations such as confined spaces as needed.
• Support federal, state, and local safety inspections.
• Deliver onboarding and ongoing safety training to employees.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations.
