Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking a hands-on Safety Professional to support field and plant operations across our construction materials facilities. You will partner with leaders and frontline teams to drive proactive safety, conduct inspections, and coach teams in safe work practices.

The role requires travel between sites, strong communication, and a practical, problem-solving approach in industrial environments.

Qualifications

• Ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and work collaboratively with teams at all levels.
• Strong awareness of safety principles, regulatory requirements (OSHA/MSHA), and risk reduction strategies.
• Experience in identifying hazards, solving problems, and implementing field-ready solutions.
• Ability to support incident investigations, documentation, and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day safety activities and ensure consistent application of safety standards.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and observations to identify hazards and reduce risks.
• Provide coaching on safe work practices and procedures to employees and supervisors.
• Assist with incident investigations, root-cause analysis, documentation, and follow-up actions.
• Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, training sessions, and ongoing safety communications.
• Track leading and lagging indicators and support continuous improvement initiatives.
