AMERISAFE is seeking a Field Safety Professional to conduct on-site Loss Control Surveys for prospects and policyholders in Jackson, Madison, and Pearl, MS. The role focuses on evaluating safety programs, hazard controls, and risk factors to support underwriting decisions.

The position requires a safety-focused degree or verifiable experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in the field.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in safety or verifiable work experience in safety is required.
• Excellent knowledge of safety regulations and recognized safe work practices is required.
• Safety certifications or professional designations are a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
• Adequate computer knowledge and typing skills.

Responsabilités

• Organize and manage a geographic territory, optimizing efficiency of travel and expenses.
• Assess the insurability of prospects or policyholders and provide a detailed report of their work environment.
• Assess the current safety program in use by the prospect or policyholder and determine if it is appropriate for the risk based on factors such as potential for loss and history.
• Observe the work site to determine hazard controls and communicate deficiencies and recommendations to reduce risk.
• Provide safety information to assist compliance and proactive safety planning and training.
• Conduct safety training and meetings for employees as needed.
• Schedule work according to priority and survey due dates.
• Meet or exceed department goals for quality, production and timeliness of reports.
• Travel as required, up to 25% overnight; some weeks away may be needed.
• Complete and return safety surveys electronically.
