Job summary

Harlan Electric Company is seeking a Safety Specialist to partner with field staff, clients, and subcontractors across multiple worksites. The role focuses on enforcing safety policies, conducting site visits, and coordinating safety plans with Operations.

Travel to various project sites is required. A minimum of two years in EHS, a high school diploma or GED, and a safety certification are preferred. The position emphasizes strong communication, teamwork, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) field roles is required.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Minimum of one safety certification is preferred (CSHO, CHST, SMS, SSH, CSP).
• Undergraduate degree in Safety Management or related field preferred; combination of experience & education may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing site visits to observe safety behaviors and conditions.
• Coordinate with Operations to create site-specific safety plans and participate in safety meetings.
• Participate in project kick-off and progress meetings.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations on environmental and safety matters.
• Coach site personnel on safety practices and behaviors.
