Job summary

Kiewit seeks a Safety Specialist to support and audit safety programs in the Central District. You will help implement the Site Specific Safety Plan, verify compliance with OSHA regulations, and assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.

The role reports to a Project Safety Manager and involves fieldwork across Colorado projects, including travel as needed and a strong commitment to “Nobody Gets Hurt.”

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety is preferred.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements.
• Certification as Safety Professional or EMT preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, review, and communication of the Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP).
• Collaborate with craft daily to promote safety program buy-in and ownership.
• Enforce Stop Work responsibilities and ensure policy adherence.
• Plan and problem-solve with operations using leading indicators.
