Job summary

The Field Safety Representative embeds with project teams at TWC Concrete Construction to promote safety culture, coaching workers on corrections and ensuring 100% field presence for observing and improving SQP. This role reinforces positive behavior through recognition and provides safety guidance to co-workers.

Education includes a Bachelor's degree or 4+ years in concrete/safety construction; CHST/OSHA 510 preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years field safety/construction experience.
• CHST certification preferred; OSHA 510 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote the company's safety culture on the project site.
• Assist in project compliance with safety rules and regulations.
• Conduct weekly incident reviews and case management as needed.
• Identify unsafe conditions and coach immediate correction on site.
• Observe MTAs and toolbox talks to ensure completion and effectiveness.
• Apply OSHA regulations to the scope of work and conduct site safety reviews.
• Deliver safety trainings such as fall protection, rigging, equipment operation, confined space and Haz-Com.

Job description

The Field Safety Representative promotes TWC's safety culture by ensuring every co-worker returns home safely every night. The Field Safety Representative is expected to spend 100% of time in the field observing and coaching co-workers on correction of unsafe conditions and behaviors. Reinforces positive behavior through recognition and/or rewards. Serves as a resource to co-workers by answering questions about safety and sharing lessons learned. Embeds self with the project team and strategically “dives in” using a hands-on approach to improve project safety, quality and productivity (SQP).

The Field Safety Representative is responsible for the following:

• Promote the company's safety culture by being a safety resource to the project.
• Assist in project compliance with all safety rules and regulations
• Assist with or fully conduct case management, including weekly incident reviews
• Identifies unsafe conditions and behaviors, and coaches the immediate correction to eliminate the condition or behavior
• Observes and coaches co-workers responsible for daily Mission Task Analyses (MTAs) and Tool Box Talks to ensure they are completed effectively.
• Applies all OSHA regulations to the scope of work
• Conducts continual safety review of the project site
• Conducts safety trainings such as fall protection, rigging, equipment operation, confined space and Haz-Com

Education:

Bachelor's Degree or minimum of (4) years of concrete/safety construction experience

Experience:

Field Safety Experience

CHST certification preferred

OSHA 510 preferred
