Job summary

JR Merit, Inc. is seeking an experienced Site Safety Specialist to support a major Power Generation project in the Western US.

The role focuses on implementing and improving EHS programs, partnering with field teams to identify hazards and ensure safety compliance across industrial construction projects. Ideal candidates hold a BS in safety or related field, 5+ years of construction safety experience, and relevant certifications (OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR).

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction health and safety.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• OSHA CFR 1926 standards knowledge.
• First Aid/CPR & OSHA 30 certifications.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and support rotating schedules.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation and continuous improvement of EHS programs.
• Identify hazards, promote safe work practices, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct field safety observations, inspections and audits.
• Develop and deliver safety orientations and toolbox talks.
• Support site safety plans, JSAs, and incident investigations.
• Maintain safety documentation and reporting, coordinate with teams and leadership.
