Job summary

JR Merit, Inc. is seeking a Site Safety Specialist to lead EHS program implementation on a major Power Generation project in Madras, Oregon.

You will partner with field teams to identify hazards, promote safe work practices, and ensure regulatory compliance, with opportunities to support multiple JR Merit divisions across the Western US. The role requires 5+ years in construction safety, a relevant degree, OSHA CFR 1926 knowledge, and First Aid/CPR & OSHA 30 certifications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction health and safety.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of OSHA CFR 1926 standards and state construction safety regulations.
• First Aid/CPR & OSHA 30 certifications.
• Ability to travel up to 50% to provide onsite safety support and training.
• Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation and continuous improvement of EHS programs on projects.
• Partner with field teams to identify hazards and promote safe work practices.
• Conduct field safety observations, inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
• Develop and deliver orientations, toolbox talks, and safety training.
• Support Site-Specific Safety Plans, JSAs, and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain safety documentation and reporting.
• Collaborate with project teams and leadership to improve safety performance.
