Job summary

AKS Engineering & Forestry is seeking a Field Safety Manager to lead safety programs across utility-scale energy projects. You will develop policies, conduct audits, and drive a safety-first culture on site, coordinating with project managers and contractors.

The ideal candidate has a 5+ year track record in safety management for energy/construction projects, with CSP/CHST/EHS certifications, OSHA 30, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional safety management experience in energy, construction, or industrial projects.
• Proven track record in managing safety for large, complex projects.
• Solar, BESS, or wind power project experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel 100% of the time.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Certifications in CSP, CHST, EHS, HAZWOPER, NFPA 70E, etc.
• OSHA 30 safety training.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and procedures across project sites.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments with project teams.
• Lead safety training and onboarding, toolbox talks, and ongoing education.
• Oversee incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state/local regulations; support audits.
• Drive a strong safety culture with continuous improvement and teamwork.
• Identify hazards and implement risk mitigation, including emergency plans.
