Job summary

LeoForce is seeking a proactive Safety Coordinator to support large electrical utility projects in Cedar Rapids. The role focuses on promoting a strong safety culture, conducting field visits, coaching crews, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and client safety standards on transmission, distribution, substations, and related infrastructure.

You will partner with field operations and leadership to drive incident prevention, develop site safety plans, lead trainings, and document safety

Qualifications

5+ years of safety experience in electrical utilities, construction, or infrastructure.
Knowledge of OSHA standards and utility construction safety practices.
Experience with transmission, distribution, substation, or heavy civil projects preferred.
Strong communication and ability to influence field teams.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections, audits, and observations on active utility projects.
Ensure OSHA compliance and client safety standards.
Promote safe work practices with project teams and field crews.
Develop site-specific safety plans, JHAs, and pre-task planning.
Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and field training.
Investigate incidents and root causes with corrective actions.
Monitor contractor safety performance and compliance.
Support DOT compliance, equipment inspections, PPE programs, and fleet safety.
Maintain safety documentation and training records.
Participate in client safety meetings and project walkdowns.
Drive behavioral-based safety and continuous improvement.
Provide field coaching on safe utility construction practices.
