Polk Mechanical Company is seeking a Safety Coordinator to serve as the primary safety professional on a single project, site, or facility. You will implement safety programs, engage in daily field activities, coach personnel, and manage incidents using SMS/Procore.

Responsibilities include conducting hazard assessments, documenting trends, and leading safety training and toolbox talks. OSHA 30/500 are required, with CHST/CSHO preferred; a valid license is needed for field operations.

Formación

• High School diploma or GED is required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in occupational safety & health is preferred.
• 3–5 years of safety or construction experience is preferred.
• OSHA 30 and OSHA 500 are required; CSHO/CHST are preferred.
• Valid driver’s license meeting company requirements.
• Knowledge of general construction operations (mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, sheet metal, welding).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to coach and mentor field personnel.
• Proficiency with safety reporting platforms (Excel, SMS/Procore).

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate with project supervision to implement safety protocols on the jobsite.
• Ensure safety expectations are communicated and followed by GC, Polk, and regulatory bodies.
• Conduct regular safety assessments, document hazards and corrective actions, identify trends.
• Communicate with Site Safety Manager or Regional Safety Manager about incidents and high-risk activities.
• Maintain accurate safety records in SMS/Procore or other systems.
• Provide direction and mentorship to Safety Representatives and field personnel.
• Coordinate safety staffing for shutdowns, commissioning, and live system tie-ins.
• Lead or assist incident investigations and root-cause analyses.
• Deliver site-specific safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks.
• Review high-risk permits such as hot work, confined space, and lift plans.
