Job summary

Safety Worxs is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Specialist to support the Dam project in Washington. This field-focused role ensures compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and project safety procedures, with initial hours aligned to the current schedule and a transition to night shift over time.

The ideal candidate has hands-on construction safety experience, can work independently in the field, identify hazards, and collaborate with project teams to implement corrective actions to keep

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction safety experience required.
• Must meet EM 385-1-1 40-Hour certification.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or able to obtain.
• High school diploma or GED; bachelor's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections and correct hazards.
• Support EM 385-1-1/OSHA safety program implementation.
• Develop site safety plans and hazard mitigation strategies.
• Create Daily Risk Assessments (DRAs) and safety records.
• Participate in coordination meetings and pre-task planning.
• Monitor field activities and enforce safe practices.
• Identify safety equipment needs for upcoming work.
• Assist incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Provide first aid and emergency response support.
• Monitor subcontractor safety compliance and address deficiencies.
• Conduct toolbox talks and field safety briefings.
• Maintain inspection, observation, incident, and corrective-action records.
• Track safety observations and trends.
• Promote proactive safety culture with project leadership.
