Job summary

Safety Worxs seeks an experienced Health & Safety Manager for Ravensdale, WA to lead on-site safety programs on an active construction project. The role requires hands-on supervision, training, and collaboration with project leadership to sustain a strong safety culture.

The ideal candidate has extensive construction safety experience, EM 385-1-1 familiarity, and a proven ability to develop practical mitigation strategies while mentoring field safety personnel in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of construction safety experience required.
• Experience leading Safety Manager or similar leadership roles on active construction projects.
• EM 385-1-1 experience required.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring safety professionals.
• Understanding of construction means and high‑risk activities.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with project leadership and field teams.
• Visible presence in active construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the project safety program, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain a strong field presence and work with project management, supervision, subcontractors, and craft personnel to promote safe work practices.
• Conduct jobsite safety inspections, audits, and observations to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Monitor safety trends and document accidents, injuries, and near misses.
• Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and monitor corrective actions.
• Develop and conduct site safety orientations, toolbox talks, and other safety meetings.
• Ensure safety permits, certifications, inspections, and documentation remain current.
• Provide technical safety guidance related to construction activities and regulations.
• Review JHAs, DHAs, AHAs, and other site safety documentation.
• Plan for high‑risk activities and implement hazard controls.
• Develop and maintain site safety and emergency plans.
• Support emergency response planning and site access coordination.
• Provide safety performance updates and trend analyses to leadership.
• Mentor and develop site safety personnel.
