Job summary

Tarlton Corp is seeking a Safety Engineer to lead safety program management, incident reporting, and training across large-scale commercial and industrial projects in the Midwest. The role emphasizes a proactive safety culture beyond compliance, with ongoing collaboration with project teams and owners.

You will navigate complex construction safety challenges, conduct site inspections, manage OSHA records, and mentor teams in safety planning and practices.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of safety experience or equivalent in building construction.
• Working knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead Safety Program management across divisions/projects to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate Loss Control efforts for safety and security on jobsites.
• Review subcontractors’ safety programs and ensure qualified safety representatives are designated.
• Partner with subcontractor foremen and superintendents to align crews with safety expectations.
• Assist in achieving the Safety Department’s business plan goals and communicate with Corporate Safety Manager.
• Conduct regular site inspections, document findings, and promote Stop Work Authority.
• Investigate incidents, assist with medical case management, and prepare incident reports.
• Maintain PTSPs, Toolbox Talks, JSARs, and Daily Logs for compliance.
• Coach and mentor teams on safety planning and training initiatives.
