Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks a Contractor in Charge (CIC) in Casper, WY to oversee construction, maintenance, and safety compliance for rail projects. The CIC will lead field safety, coordinate with train crews, and ensure regulatory adherence on site.

The role requires travel 50%–85% and a strong safety mindset, with prior railroad experience preferred in maintenance of way or TY&E. NRSS offers comprehensive benefits and training.

Qualifications

• Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability for long-term travel assignments as needed.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Minimum railroad experience preferred in maintenance of way or TY&E.

Responsibilities

• Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging services as needed.
• Monitor compliance with FRA regulations during track work.
• Coordinate with dispatchers, engineers, and supervisors for train movements.
• Document activities, briefings, and logs for management and regulators.
• Enforce railroad, state, and federal policies.
