Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Route Auditor to ride with a driver on commercial and residential routes to identify efficiencies, ensure accurate billing, and spot opportunities for increased service and safety improvements.

The role involves collecting data, evaluating route times, payloads, and service windows; communicating discrepancies; and recommending route and container improvements to enhance customer experience and revenue.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a commercial driver or a waste industry helper.
• Experience in a customer-facing position.
• Good time management and reliable follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Ride with the assigned driver on designated routes to gather data such as travel times, disposal volumes, service and collection times, and route sheet accuracy to reduce costs and improve revenue.
• Check actual container weight, size, and weekly pickups to ensure proper billing and communicate discrepancies to Sales, Customer Service, and Accounts Receivable.
• Identify opportunities for additional revenue and inform Sales or Customer Service.
• Use the Route Editor program to identify overlapping routes and suggest efficiency improvements.
• Identify safety hazards along routes and recommend changes.
• Recommend container repairs or replacements as needed.
• Prepare detailed audit reports and review findings with the General Manager and department managers.
• Enter audit findings into the customer database.
