Job summary

MasTec Civil is hiring a Rodman/Instrument Survey Operator in Tampa, FL. You will support the Party Chief by creating surveys for construction, topographic, right-of-way and control tasks, using traditional surveying tools and GPS-based methods.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of construction field experience with layout or survey responsibilities.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, blueprints and procedures.
Basic arithmetic across units of measure.
Willingness to develop knowledge in layout and survey work.
Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

Hold level or stadia rod at designated points to determine elevations and layout stakes.
Clear brush or obstructions from survey lines.
Measure distances between survey points with tape or chain.
Mark measuring points with markers or stakes.
Load/unload equipment and prepare for daily jobs.
Assist in calculating heights, depths, and property lines.
