Job summary

Allpoints Surveying in Austin, TX is seeking a field-based Rodman/Instrument Man – Party Chief to oversee surveying tasks and ensure precise measurements for projects. The role emphasizes ownership from start to finish and working as a sole crew member in the field.

Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, detail-oriented and capable of producing high-quality surveys while adhering to safety guidelines and project specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Exposure to surveying instruments and processing survey data for 6 months is required.
• Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions and on varied terrain.
• Independent work as a single crew member is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• High attention to detail is required.

Responsibilities

• Collect field data utilizing GPS and surveying instruments.
• Produce field notes and sketches depicting accurate field conditions.
• Utilize technology to collaborate with other departments.
• Organize and prioritize tasks daily.
• Operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner and in compliance with laws.
• Other duties as assigned.
