Job summary

The AES Corporation seeks a Robotics Validation & Release Engineer to define end-to-end validation and release strategy for the Maximo robotic system powering solar module installation. You will lead testing across perception, autonomy, controls, safety, and system services before any production deployment on field robots.

You will build verification plans, release criteria, and CI pipelines, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure traceability from requirements to tests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, CS, or related field.
• 6+ years of robotics system experience.
• Proven track record owning releases for embedded/real-time hardware.
• Hands-on with automated testing, CI/CD, and test infrastructure.
• Experience designing validation strategies for autonomy or safety-critical systems.
• Strong debugging across software/hardware boundaries.
• Comfort with fast iteration and balancing speed with quality.
• Proficiency in ROS2 and ROS hardware integration.
• Experience with robotics simulation and digital twins.
• Knowledge of middleware, DDS, QoS, latency, time synchronization.

Responsibilities

• Define validation strategy and test coverage across unit, integration, system, regression, and endurance tests.
• Own end-to-end software release process from planning to deployment and post-release verification.
• Build and maintain a release readiness framework with entry/exit criteria and sign-offs.
• Develop and maintain CI pipelines and automated regression suites.
• Coordinate system-level verification across simulation, HIL, lab rigs, and field robots.
• Establish performance benchmarks and acceptance thresholds for key behaviors.
• Translate product requirements into testable acceptance criteria and validation plans.
• Create and maintain release documentation and deployment playbooks.
• Ensure safe deployment practices and compliance with safety standards.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot robotics systems including ROS, sensors, and actuators.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and document traceability from requirements to tests.
