Job summary

Field AI in Irvine, CA is seeking a Field Application Engineer to deploy, test, and support client projects nationwide. This role involves frequent travel to project sites across the U.S. and working onsite at our Irvine office with passport/REAL ID requirements for travel.

You will collaborate with engineers and clients to document results, troubleshoot issues, and improve robotic system performance and usability. This is a hands-on field role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• Strong communication skills able to translate complex topics for various audiences.
• Willingness to travel frequently across the country.
• Up-to-date passport and REAL ID preferred for travel.
• Excellent organizational skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate robotic systems in the field and support testing and data collection.
• Supervise remote operations and assist during client presentations and demos.
• Facilitate communication between engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Document technical issues, test results, and client feedback in detail.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and contribute to workflow improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to iterate on system performance and usability.
