Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company in Orlando, FL seeks a Boiler and Machinery Inspector to perform field inspections, assess hazards, and guide risk decisions for underwriting and claims teams. You will travel to customer sites, apply codes, and prepare thorough reports to support insureds and internal partners.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree, two years in boiler/machinery, and must obtain the National Board Inservice Commission within six months.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in boiler and machinery industry or a related field.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must obtain an Inservice Commission from the National Board within six months of employment.
• Must have or be able to attain appropriate certification to meet state-specific requirements, where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent field presence with on-site visits to customers.
• Manage jurisdictional inspection workload within an assigned territory.
• Conduct boiler and pressure vessel inspections per jurisdictional rules and submit reports.
• Evaluate exposures, develop loss estimates and communicate findings to partners.
• Investigate less complex equipment breakdowns and support risk controls.
• Document, communicate and report findings; perform other duties as assigned.
