Job summary

Brigham Young University (BYU) seeks a part-time UTTR Field Manager (28 hours/week) to support wildlife surveys, environmental monitoring, and field data collection at the Utah Test and Training Range. You will coordinate crews, maintain data processes, and assist with reports for Hill Air Force Base and USFWS.

Essential duties include data entry, equipment management, and training supervision, with a focus on safety and accuracy in challenging field conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in range management, wildlife biology, conservation biology or related fields.
• Experience with plants and animals and knowledge of identification.
• Ability to perform data collection in harsh conditions safely.
• Operate trucks on dirt roads and drive ATVs; ATV training/certification may be required.
• Basic understanding of creating year-end reports.

Responsibilities

• Collect, record, and verify field data per protocols.
• Assist with wildlife surveys and environmental monitoring.
• Enter, organize, maintain, and quality-check field data and records.
• Maintain databases, spreadsheets, equipment inventories, and project systems.
• Prepare data summaries for analysis, reporting, and partners.
• Assist with training, supervising, and coordinating field crews.
• Maintain field equipment and supplies; support reports and admin needs.
