Job summary

KWFC is seeking a Field Representative to conduct door-to-door interviews and collect census data within AR/IL/IA/IN/MI/MN/MO/WI. Home is your duty station and travel in the local area is expected.

You will explain survey purposes, collect accurate information, and enter data using a laptop or survey forms. Training will be provided as needed, with payroll records maintained for hours and mileage.

Qualifications

  • One year of general experience equivalent to GS-03 in Federal service or two years of education above high school required.
  • Experience or education demonstrating ability to learn survey instruments and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts interviews primarily in person (door to door) and may conduct phone interviews to collect survey data within an assigned geographic area.
  • Communicates with respondents, supervisors, and others as appropriate.
  • Understands survey materials to explain purpose, asks questions as worded, and enters accurate information into a laptop or survey forms.
  • Maintains payroll records reflecting hours worked, miles driven, and travel reimbursements.
  • Completes and attends training as necessary in-person or online.

DUTIES:
  • Conducts interviews primarily in person (door to door) and when requested may conduct phone interviews to collect survey or census data as required within an assigned geographic area.
  • Communicates with respondents, supervisors, and other persons as appropriate.
  • Understands survey materials in order to explain the purpose of surveys, ask questions as worded on the questionnaire or survey instrument, and enters accurate and complete information into a laptop computer or onto survey forms.
  • Maintains personal payroll records that reflect hours worked, miles driven, and reimbursements for travel and communications claimed.
  • Completes and attends training as necessary in-person or online.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have one year of general experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to GS-03 in the Federal service. General experience is being progressively responsible in clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.OR2 years of education above high school.Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
