Job description

Description Q-Lab Corporation is currently seeking an experienced Field Repair Technician in the Phoenix, AZ area. If you have hand‑on electromechanical troubleshooting skills and are passionate about being part of a truly customer‑focused company, you will have the opportunity to service and repair world‑class lab instruments for a diverse, industry‑leading customer base across North America. This position requires approximately 50% travel, and applicants must reside within reasonable driving distance of Phoenix; the role will be based at our Wittmann office.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot malfunctioning lab instruments or test equipment and test mechanical mechanisms and electronic circuitry for root‑cause failures.
• Perform hands‑on repair for malfunctioning lab instruments or test equipment, and test assemblies for conformance in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time annually to provide repair support to direct‑market customers, including being away for up to a full week as required.
• Provide customers with phone and email recommendations to resolve lab instrument issues and follow up on ongoing issues, including sending replacement parts or referring information to the main home office.

Required Skills

• Recognized electrical or mechanical qualification with apprenticeship and at least 5 years of work experience.
• Work experience with technical equipment, preferably in a laboratory setting.
• Competent in reading and interpreting documents, instructions, and manuals.
• Diplomacy and tact in reporting non‑conforming events to management with urgency.
• Highly proficient computer and typing skills – Windows environment, Microsoft applications, and relevant CRM systems.
• Domestic and international travel experience and ability.
• Clean driving record.
