Position Overview

The Field Billing Manager will represent HeartFlow by supporting customer administration and billing professionals to ensure successful billing and reimbursement of FFRct claims. This role involves collaboration with marketing to develop educational materials, supporting sales with coding and billing concerns, and working directly with customers to ensure compliant coding, educate on code components, and assist with prior authorization and claims appeals. The position is remote with up to 50% travel across the US.

Job Responsibilities

1. Develop and distribute educational materials on coding, billing, prior authorization, and appeals.
2. Support the commercial team throughout sales and implementation by addressing billing concerns.
3. Conduct calls or onsite visits to educate on appropriate use of codes and billing scenarios.
4. Work with revenue cycle management at customer sites and internally.
5. Interpret medical records to ensure accurate claim submission and address reimbursement issues.
6. Identify practices needing reimbursement education and support.
7. Assist with patient coverage, access, and reimbursement questions.
8. Review claims regularly to ensure proper reimbursement.
9. Maintain knowledge of Heartflow policies and ensure compliance.
10. Stay updated on industry trends related to market access.
11. Provide reimbursement information to practice staff to support patient access.
12. Share insights with the “One Team” to address customer needs and payer issues.

Skills and Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of US healthcare coding and billing, including Medicare and commercial payers.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; advanced spreadsheet skills.
• Excellent communication and customer support skills.
• Strong understanding of hospital billing infrastructure, EMR, and billing personnel.
• Ability to interpret policies and medical necessity language for accurate coding.

Educational and Work Experience

• Over 5 years of experience in hospital coding and billing, managing government and commercial claims.
• Proven medical coding and reimbursement expertise.
• Associates Degree in a related field required; CPC or COC preferred; cardiology experience a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

This is a remote position; candidates must be located in specified states or able to relocate (relo sponsorship not available). The estimated salary range is $84,500 to $110,000 annually, plus bonuses and stock options.
