Job summary

uniQure is seeking a Field Reimbursement Manager to be the field-based expert enabling patient access to our one-time gene therapy. You will educate treatment sites on coverage, coding and payment dynamics across an assigned territory.

Reporting to the Senior Director, you will identify issues, perform root-cause analyses, and help centers of excellence navigate payer processes, ensuring eligible patients can access treatment while maintaining strict compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, life sciences, or related field.
• Rare disease or gene therapy experience preferred.
• 8+ years in field reimbursement or market access.
• Deep understanding of US reimbursement, buy‑and‑bill, coding, Medicare/Medicaid processes.
• Experience with IDNs, hospital outpatient settings and centers of excellence.
• Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to travel 50%+.

Responsibilities

• Serve as field-based reimbursement expert in assigned territory, educating treatment sites, billing staff, and liaising with referral sites on payer coverage, coding and claims submission.
• Support end-to-end reimbursement journey through benefit investigations, prior authorizations, appeals, and buy‑and‑bill vs. specialty pharmacy considerations.
• Educate accounts on coding (J-codes, CPT, ICD), site-of-care considerations, and payer policy requirements for one-time gene therapy.
• Collaborate with uniQure’s Case Managers and Payor Account Directors to resolve patient-specific access issues.
• Support onboarding and launch readiness of new treatment sites and disease centers of excellence.
• Identify and communicate payer policy changes and access barriers to internal stakeholders.
• Partner with cross-functional teams while maintaining compliance firewalls between reimbursement and other activities.
• Deliver in-service education to office and billing staff on reimbursement processes.
• Represent uniQure professionally at accounts and conferences.
• Operate within legal/regulatory guidelines with no selling or price guarantees.
