Auterion is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to lead hands-on integration and deployment of Auterion-powered drone systems with customers. You will work across hardware, firmware, and software teams, configure solutions, and ensure successful field deployments.

You will collaborate with partners to understand requirements, perform system bring-up, and contribute to core software development. The role combines technical excellence with strong customer communication and on-site work.

Qualifications

• Degree in Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Robotics Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficient in C/C++ and Python; able to read, debug and patch code and write tools.
• Comfortable in Linux environments, with Docker and basic networking.
• Hands-on hardware-software integration, including system bring-up and embedded interfaces (UART, CAN, I2C, SPI).
• Strong troubleshooting and clear communication with customers and engineering teams.
• Willing to travel and work on-site with customers.
• EU citizenship required for security clearance and customer requirements.

Responsabilités

• Operate in a hands-on environment with evolving system requirements and rapid integration cycles.
• Manage software releases and perform firmware flashing and configuration in autopilot ecosystems.
• Provide avionics and airframe expertise, including autopilot tuning and sensor integration.
• Troubleshoot integration and flight-readiness issues across cross-functional teams.
• Act as the primary technical authority in customer engagements and translate requirements into architectures.
• Participate in flight testing to validate stability, safety and mission performance.
