Job summary

FirstEnergy Pennsylvania Electric Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp., seeks a Readiness Coordinator to support Distribution Line Operations by pre-inspecting jobs for readiness and reducing safety exposure in the field.

You will help plan, schedule, and coordinate field work, ensuring crews have the information and resources needed to execute safely and efficiently. Some travel to off-site locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or related discipline; 1–2 years of related work experience or 3 years without degree.
• Knowledge of NESC/NEC.
• Understand Accident Prevention Handbook and related procedures.
• Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and procedures; develop accurate work plans.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and direct a solid commitment to all aspects of safety.
• Plan and schedule activities, manage the work queue, staffing, equipment, materials, tools, and permits.
• Assist supervision in establishing work commitment dates and expedite delivery when needed.
• Visually inspect jobs to confirm readiness before dispatch.
• Use the job readiness checklist to ensure executable jobs.
• Support storm restoration efforts and be MOP trained when required.
• Coordinate with planners to set start and completion dates and report progress.
• Conduct field investigations to gather terrain, buildings, and obstacle data.
