Job summary

Three Notch Group is seeking a motivated Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician to join our Andalusia, AL, Dothan, AL, or Pensacola, FL team. You will perform field observations, materials testing, and document tests to ensure quality control on various projects.

The role requires reading plans, coordinating with contractors, and maintaining safety on site. Travel to service areas is expected; professional certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction plans, geotechnical reports, project specifications, and applicable building codes.
• Perform field observations, testing, and inspections on commercial, industrial, institutional, roadway, and infrastructure construction projects.
• Monitor contractor activities and document conformance with project plans, specifications, geotechnical recommendations, and applicable standards.
• Perform construction materials testing and special inspections: site grading and earthwork, foundation bearing evaluations, concrete placement and sampling, reinforcing steel inspections, asphalt testing.
• Prepare field reports, daily observation reports, test summaries, and inspection documentation.
• Communicate test results and recommendations to project managers and clients.
• Maintain testing equipment and safety on active construction sites.
