Job summary

Three Notch Group, a civil engineering leader with 75+ years of experience, seeks a Construction Materials Testing Technician for Andalusia, AL or nearby locations. You’ll perform field observations, materials testing, and documentation to ensure project quality and compliance.

You will read plans, inspect tests, prepare reports, and communicate findings to project teams. Requires a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and basic software skills. Travel to diverse sites is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction plans, geotechnical reports, project specifications, and applicable building codes.
• Perform field observations, testing, and inspections on commercial, industrial, institutional, roadway, and infrastructure construction projects throughout the region.
• Monitor contractor activities and document conformance with project plans, specifications, geotechnical recommendations, and applicable standards.
• Perform construction materials testing and special inspections during site grading, earthwork operations, fill placement, compaction testing, and concrete placement.
