Job summary

Three Notch Group is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician to join our team in Knoxville, TN. The role involves field observations, materials testing, and documentation to ensure quality and compliance on varied construction projects.

You will perform tests in line with ASTM/ACI standards, compile reports, and coordinate with project teams. Travel to project sites within the service area is required. A strong attention to safety and quality is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• 2–5 years of construction or construction materials testing experience.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Familiarity with construction inspection and field testing procedures.
• Industry certifications such as: ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician I, NICET, ICC Certifications, DOT certifications.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction plans, geotechnical reports, project specifications, and applicable building codes.
• Perform field observations, testing, and inspections on construction projects regionally.
• Monitor contractor activities and document conformance with plans and standards.
• Perform testing during site grading, earthwork, concrete placement, and reinforcement inspections.
• Collect field samples and perform testing per ASTM, ACI, ICC, DOT requirements.
• Prepare field reports, test summaries, and inspection documentation.
