Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is hiring a Pump Mechanic I for the SPM Oil & Gas group in the Midland area. The role focuses on assembling, servicing, maintaining, and repairing reciprocating pumps, gear boxes, and end assemblies.

Travel to field sites is expected (5%), with overtime opportunities as needed. A starting pay of $28.45 per hour is offered with growth based on experience. The position requires strict adherence to SOPs, safety culture, and hands-on mechanical tasks including disassembly,

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 12 months.
• No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years.
• 1–3 months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Working knowledge of oil and gas equipment.
• Experience as a pump mechanic.

• Inspect and clean all required components.
• Assist during disassembly and preparation for detailed inspections.
• Ability to comprehend SOPs and risk assessments.

• Transport pumps and parts to and from shops.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate repair needs and root causes for listed pump models.
