North Slope Borough is seeking a Public Health Nurse to provide basic nursing services, conduct assessments, treatments, and counseling to promote health. The role includes infant/child health work, immunizations, and community education, with travel to borough villages and non-traditional hours as needed.

The position emphasizes collaboration with other professionals, adherence to confidentiality, and ongoing professional licensure requirements. Substitute on-call status may apply.

Formación

• Free from active pulmonary tuberculosis and able to pass a background check.
• RN program diploma or associate degree and eligibility for Alaska RN licensure within 90 days.
• Knowledge of health teaching, patient counseling and documentation.

Responsabilidades

• Provide medical assessments, treatments and counseling within authority.
• Assist in infant and child health assessments, screening and immunizations.
• Educate parents on child development and refer to community services.
• Coordinate care with other professionals for continuum of care.
• Travel to villages within the North Slope Borough.
• Present outreach and patient/family teaching programs.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate records; follow HIPAA guidelines.
